BLOOD DONATION CAMP

BLOOD DONATION.jpeg

Rotaract Club of USME organised a Blood Donation Camp on 30th September 2019. The camp was quite successful, and we encouraged many people to donate blood. We also tired to make people aware about the myths that aren’t true, related to blood donation. We even had a photobooth to encourage people to donate blood and take selfies and spread the word. This blood donation camp was an on-campus camp. Hence, only the students, faculty members and other college staff were involved in blood donation. In total we collected 42 units of blood.

Rotaract Club of USME also organised a Thalassemia Awareness Camp on 30th September 2019 along with the Blood Donation Camp. In the Thalassemia Awareness Camp, we organised a Thalassemia Awareness Workshop which was conducted by Dr. Tejinder Singh, where she explained the youth of our college how important it is to get tested for thalassemia and how can we take precautions so that the number of children born with thalassemia don’t increase. To encourage her this spirit of getting tested we even organised free of cost Thalassemia Check-up in our campus itself on the same day simultaneously. We were able to test 75 people for thalassemia which included the students, faculty and the other college staff.

PROJECT UTSAV

Under Project Utsav, we organized a visit to an old age home in Karkdooma . Club members visited the old age home and spent quality time with the residents there by playing cards, tambola and spending jolly old time in the spirit of Diwali festival . For residents in these old age homes, Diwali is a particularly hard time owed to how it always reminds them of past experiences . We feel, in moments like these, to offer them whatever solace and happiness we can, is an endeavour like none other .

CLUB TRIP

CLUB TRIP4.jpeg

With fear in our hearts and courage in our souls, we began our first trek journey. Who knew that this journey would give birth to new friendships, unforgettable experiences and lifetime memories? ‘Safar khubsoorat hai mazil se bhi’ We fell, we hurt ourselves and were one step away from turning back and giving up but we did not because we still had hope and we knew that our destination was worth wearing off our shoes. So, we walked and walked ,taking precious memories with us, leaving behind only footprints. When we finally reached our destination-The Gullu Devi Waterfall, rain welcomed us. With kadak chai in our hands, we embraced nature at it’s purest and most beautiful form.

PROJECT SHASTRARTH

In the modern time when the level of competition is on its peak, everyone wants to attain the maximum level of success in their lives. In these situations of competitiveness it is important we use our presence of mind and could hear our inner selves and be able to present the same in front of everyone else. We might have come across many situations in our lives under which we ask ourselves about our own stand or our own point of view on a particular topic/issue. Project Shastrarth started in the month of January, 2020 with a team of 15 rotaractors, passionate about debating and have won many prizes. With an aim to impart maximum knowledge to students, we have conducted 2 Sessions up till February, 2020 with participation of 50+ students in each session. Due to the lockdown during COVID 19 Pandemic, the project has come to a halt for the time being

PROJECT PRIDE

Pride Parade

6 th September 2018 marked the remarkable event in the history of Indian Judiciary. Decriminalization of Section 377. The freedom to love, live and grow. Keeping this in mind RACUSME celebrated the first year of success on 6th September, 2019. Rotaractors face painted each other with the objective to spread a clear, bold and a loud message to the LGBTQ+ Community, that nation supports them and accepts them the way they are. This event not only induced others to not to feel ashamed but also acknowledged that they have to are a part of this Earth as much as all others are. The message was spread all across through social media as Love has no gender .

BEAT THE HEAT

Organized with the aid of Rtr Daivik Hasija and Rtr Kriti Ahuja. “The simplest acts of the kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer” by Mahatma Gandhi. In the difficult time of pandemic and extreme heat it's important to live hydrated and nourished. RAC USME launched an initiative in the month of June to make certain that we maintain ourselves hydrated as well as our pandemic heroes who are running for us 24*7 alongside stray animals and birds who were equally affected and were dealing with troubles of shortage of meals and water. The initiative included offering food, water and other fresh liquids for home employees, society guards, policemen and sanitation people and setting up food and water for birds and stray animals in shallow bowls. The initiative became an achievement as various members of the club came forward to help the needy. The contributors adhere to all of the government guidelines and accompanied social distancing. The project also represented RAC USME for district project Hope.
